International School, Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST International), is a highly regarded educational institution in China that provides local students with education of international standards through partnerships with universities in different parts of the world.
WUST International is dated back to the China-Australia Iron and Steel Training Center sponsored by the Australian Government and the Chinese Government. It was nationally known and active from 1990 to 1995. This was succeeded by the Diploma of Business Program run in collaboration with RMIT University, Australia, which was regionally reputed for its success in providing pathways to degree studies in Australia for 1,600 strong students between 1995 and 2006. The outstanding achievements that WUST International made in the 2000s entitled WUST to the honors of an Excellent International Education Provider (2003, Hubei Provincial Education Department) and a Top 10 International Education School (2006, www.sina.com.cn).
Currently WUST International co-runs three joint programs at undergraduate level that have been approved by the Ministry of Education, PRC, namely:
●BE in Electronic Information Engineering jointly run with University of Bridgeport, USA
●BE in Mechanical Engineering jointly run with Deakin University, Australia
●BE in Network Engineering jointly run with Birmingham City University, UK
In addition, WUST International runs joint education programs at other levels, including the German Language Program leading to postgraduate programs in engineering at Dresden University of Technology, Germany
Furthermore, WUST International teams with WUST International Relations Office and Student Overseas Study Service in operating dozens of student exchange and articulation programs to universities in the US, the UK, Germany, Australia, Austria, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and some other countries and regions. For its excellence in international education in recent years, WUST International was recognized as one of the Best Service Providers in Foreign Affairs in 2010 and 2013 (The Foreign Affairs/Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Hubei Provincial Government).
